AirAsia has signed has signed a Memorandum of Understand (MoU) with Inmarsat for its next-generation GX Aviation inflight connectivity solution. The MOU, which was signed through AirAsia’s subsidiary ROKKI Sdn Bhd, is expected to significantly improve the inflight broadband passenger experience.
Inflight broadband upgrade : the details
Passengers can look forward to enjoying the benefits of the enhanced inflight broadband services across AirAsia Group’s Airbus A320 and A330 fleets sometime in 2018. Since inflight broadband was introduced on AirAsia aircraft in mid-2015, a number of improvements have been made.
These benefits offered on the ROKKI IFEC platform are expected to include:
- extra fast internet connectivity
- free movies, music, articles and games

In addition the new service will enable passengers to shop for meals, merchandise and duty-free from their seat as they fly.
