AirAsia signs on as SEA Games Official Airline Partner

AirAsia has signed on as the Official SEA Games Airline Partner for the 2017 Games in Kuala Lumpur this year. The 29th Southeast Asian Games will start on 9th August, finishing with the celebration of Malaysia’s 60th Independence Day on the 31st. Participants from all 10 Asean nations will be joined by athletes from Timor Leste as they compete for glory in 405 events in 38 sports.

The 9th Asean Para Games will be held between 17th and 23rd September.  Para-athletes with cerebral palsy, mobility disabilities, visual disabilities and amputations from Asean will vie for podium honours in 16 para-sports. 2017 will mark the sixth time Malaysia hosts the SEA Games and the third time it hosts the Asean Para Games.

AirAsia will provide flights for Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC) officials across the airline’s Asean network for the purpose of organising the Games.

Kuala Lumpur 2017 will be the first Games held since the formation of the Asean Community 2015. Therefore the theme”Rising Together” seems an appropriate choice.
