AirAsia links East Malaysia’s Kuching with Tawau

AirAsia’s newest service in East Malaysia will link Kuching to Tawau. The four times weekly flights start on 2nd December 2018. This is the only airline offering direct flights between the capital city of Sarawak and the third largest city in Sabah.

AirAsia Malaysia currently flies to thirteen destinations from Kuching, using the flight code AK.

Promo fares Kuching to Tawau

To celebrate the new route, AirAsia is offering promotional all-in, one-way fares from MYR 79. The promo fare is available for booking on airasia.com and the AirAsia mobile app until 14th October for travel between 2nd December 2018 and 26th November 2019.

Tawau is an important gateway to the world’s best dive sites, especially among Chinese tourists. AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat says that 97% of the airline’s Fly-Thru routes to this destination are from cities in China. Chinese passengers make up 76 percent of those visiting the destination.
