Kertajati, Indonesia is the latest destination in the AirAsia network, with the new service due to take off on 17th May 2023. The inaugural flight will be the first between the airport and Kuala Lumpur, and its only international connectivity.
Where is Kertajati?
From Kertajati, head out to discover the best of Majalengka Regency, including the majestic Muara Jaya waterfall, breathtaking scenery at Terasering Panyaweuyan and the turquoise lake at Situ Cipanten. For more, relax at the hillside tea garden at Cipasung Tea Plantation or travel to the highland city of Bandung and walk among the heritage architecture of the colonial period.
The twice weekly AirAsia Malaysia (AK) flights will land and depart from Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka Regency, West Java province. As the second largest airport in Indonesia, this new service will bring the Greater Bandung and Cirebon metropolitan areas closer to Kuala Lumpur.
Also set to benefit are parts of the West Java and Central Java provinces, as the flights will provide a welcome boost to both countries’ economic and tourism growth. This will be AirAsia Malaysia’s 12th route in Indonesia and strengthens the airline’s ongoing commitment to Indonesia. It also recognises the need to democratise air travel by connecting underserved cities in the region.
…. Just as we pioneered connectivity into Bandung in 2004, we are excited to bring more people to West Java to experience the rich culture and natural wonders of this incredible region. We are also looking forward to flying more travellers to Kuala Lumpur where we can connect them to the rest of Asean with our extensive network.AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat
