After departing Changi International Airport just after 9am (Singapore time) on 3rd September, Singapore Airlines’ inaugural non-stop flight to Seattle landed just after 9am (US Pacific time) the same day in Seattle.
Passengers posed with the crew and each received a goodie bag before departure. They were greeted by a water cannon salute as the aircraft pulled up to the gate at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The Singapore Airlines (SIA) non-stop flight to Seattle makes the city their fourth US destination after Los Angeles, New York (Newark) and San Francisco from Singapore. The service, initially set at three times weekly, increases to four times weekly in October 2019.
The Singapore/Seattle route uses an Airbus A350-900 aircraft offering 42 Business, 24 Premium Economy and 187 Economy Class seats. This aircraft features higher ceilings, larger windows, an extra wide body and cabin lighting designed to reduce jetlag.
