The much awaited Thai Airways Dreamliner B787-9 landed in Bangkok in the early hours of Sunday, 17th September. The arrival, originally expected at around 1am on Saturday 16th September, was delayed due to unspecified technical issues.
The new Thai Airways Dreamliner, officially registered as HS-TWA, has been royally bestowed the name “Phatthana Nikhom” and will go into service soon. Thai Airways operates out of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, home to this new bird.
Thai Airways already has six Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft in service. The first, ‘Ongkharak’, was delivered in July 2014. These aircraft fly from Bangkok to a number of popular destinations including Brisbane and Perth.
