Qantas will offer six QantasLink flights per week between Sydney and Maroochydore from 21st December with times that cater for leisure travellers over the summer holiday period. The flights will be operated by a two class Boeing 717, offering Q-Streaming inflight entertainment in every seat via a passenger’s personal electronic device and complimentary iPads for all passengers.
The flights, QF 1578 Sydney / Maroochydore and QF 1579 Maroochydore / Sydney will operate at different times on different days until 30th January 2016.
This schedule will be replaced in February 2016 by a more business oriented timing. From 9 February 2016, QF1579 will depart Maroochydore at 0640 arriving in Sydney at 0915 with QF1578 departing Sydney at 1740 and arriving at Maroochydore at 1815 from 8th February.
Qantas will also introduce a new daily Boeing 737 service between Melbourne and the Gold Coast starting on 25th October. The QF 880 Melbourne / Gold Coast and QF 881 Gold Coast / Melbourne flight schedule will vary depending on the day and will be announced later.
Qantas is also introducing flights on the Brisbane / Newcastle route from 25th October and Sydney / Gold Coast during the first quarter 2016.
All flights are subject to government/regulatory approval.
