Travellers catching the Airtrain between Brisbane Airport and the city as well as the Gold Coast and Brisbane suburbs can now take advantage of savings if they pre book their tickets online.
Savings on offer
The early-bird savings vary according to the number of days you book before you travel:
- 15% for online bookings made seven or more days before travel
- 10 % for bookings made online two to six days before travel
- 5% if the booking is made on the day of travel or the previous day
With fares starting from $14.45 one way between the Airport and Brisbane City, the discounts apply to single and return e-tickets, Gold Coast Train & Transfer (Airtrain Connect).
If you’re travelling with a friend, you may prefer to opt for the Duo Saver option where two adults can travel together for $28.00 between the Airport and City (or City to Airport). This ticket is not eligible for further discounts.
In addition, children between 5 and14 years travel free when travelling with a paying adult to any city station

Passbook discount voucher program
Airtrain is also introducing a Passbook discount voucher program offering travellers who book online, savings of up to 20 per cent on a range of Brisbane and Gold Coast attractions, cafes and others including The Coffee Club, Whale Watch Day Cruises and Dolphin Adventure Tours run by Tangalooma Island Resort. The passbook will be emailed to every customer who buys an e-ticket online to the email address supplied during the booking.
With the introduction of Brisbane Airtrain’s new mobile site you can still get a last minute 5% discount on your ticket as you get off your flight with the ‘next train countdown’ time prominently displayed at the top of the screen.
The company is also developing a new route planner tool with Google Maps for launch later this year. The planner will allow passengers to plan their journey visually from and to the airport using their smartphones.
