AirAsia reunites Malaysians with fixed Lunar New Year fares

AirAsia is spreading festive cheer with its highly anticipated Lunar New Year fares, making it easier for Malaysians to reunite with loved ones in January 2025. Travellers can enjoy affordable fixed fares starting from RM328 for flights to Sarawak and RM388 to Sabah, all-in one-way.

Eligible Routes for Fixed Lunar New Year Fares

• RM328 All-In One-Way:
  • Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Bintulu, Miri, or Sibu
  • Johor Bahru to Kuching, Sibu, or Miri
• RM388 All-In One-Way:
  • Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, or Sandakan
  • Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu

Booking is open from 3rd December 2024 to 4th February 2025, for travel between 24th January and 4th February 2025. With nearly 3,600 flights operating weekly during the festive season, AirAsia is offering more than 27,000 seats at these fixed fares.

Government Collaboration to Ease Travel Costs

Transport Minister YB Loke Siew Fook commended AirAsia for its commitment to affordability:

In addition to fixed Lunar New Year fares, AirAsia supports the RM499 ceiling fare subsidy, offering one-way economy tickets from Peninsular to East Malaysia at reduced rates during peak travel periods, including four days before Christmas.

Terms & Conditions

• Flights with base fares that cost less than RM499 will be sold at the current fare.
• Fares are non-refundable and subject to other terms and conditions.
• The government’s subsidy is for purchases of one-way economy class tickets of over RM499 from Peninsular Malaysia to Sabah and Sarawak.
• Applicable four (4) days before Christmas Day.
