Ariff Saufi Abdullah and Sahthyswaran Manoharn will represent Malaysia at the QPR Academy in London for an one-week training at QPR’s Training Ground between 2nd and 8th March 2016. They will be joined by six other young talents aged between 14 and 18, who were selected during the Thailand, Singapore and China legs of the coaching clinic tour, at the end of 2015.
While in London, the eight young footballers will enjoy a live match between QPR and Derby County FC at Loftus Road Stadium.
Ariff, who hails from from Tunas Juara Football Club and Sahthyswaran from Dynamix Football Club were selected from a total of 60 young football talents hoping to step up to a higher level, during the AirAsia-QPR Coaching Clinic at the Shah Alam Stadium in December 2015. All participants of the coaching clinic tour had the opportunity to enhance their skills and competency on the pitch, learning useful skills such as ball manipulation, passing and shooting techniques as well as other tactical aspects of the game from QPR in the Community Trust’s coaches.
The AirAsia-QPR Coaching Clinic Tour is a joint effort by AirAsia and QPR in the Community Trust which began in 2013 and has so far benefited nearly 1,000 youth across Asia, providing them with opportunities to learn from coaches linked to an English Championship club. The 2015 coaching clinic tour was led by QPR in the Community Trust’s Camp Director, Martino Chevannes, assisted by four other QPR coaches – Danny Edwards, Alfie Ferguson, Alex Gordon and Stephen McCarthy.
You can follow the boys’ adventures on AirAsia’s media channels or on the QPR website between 2nd and 8th March.
