AirAsia Goes Live For Visit Asean@50

Asean@50 is an initiative to encourage travellers to explore the unique Asean experience in 2017. AirAsia is supporting the programme to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN.

ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) was established on 8th August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand. The main aim was to promote economic growth, social progress and cultural development across Southeast Asia through multilateral cooperation.

The ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) was signed by the leaders of the five founding countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The grouping has since expanded to include Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam.  

What’s on?

Over a period of six weeks between 16th June and 21st 2017 ‘Adventure Live’, will be streamed on AirAsia’s Facebook Page. The weekly series is part of AirAsia’s ‘Live Life Unexpected’ Campaign, supporting the year-long ‘Visit Asean@50’ initiative, encouraging travellers to enjoy unique Asean experiences.

‘Adventure Live’, a collaboration between Tune Protect and award-winning Malaysian film company We are KIX, kicked-off in Hanoi, Vietnam on 16th June. Close on Hanoi’s heels were Cebu, Philippines (23rd June) and Yangon, Myanmar on 30th June. You can catch the live stream from Lombok, Indonesia on 7th July on AirAsia’s Facebook Page (facebook.com/AirAsia). The show moves on to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 14th July, ending up in Luang Prabang, Laos on 21st July.

AirAsia is the only airline that flies directly from Kuala Lumpur to all ten ASEAN countries. They are going ‘all-out’ to support Asean@50 with promotions and other initiatives.

We also hope to ignite the passion of viewers to discover new travel experiences across the 80 Asean destinations that we fly to and enjoy fixed rates with our AirAsia Asean Pass. The series is interactive. Viewers can make and vote on suggestions to hosts Natalie Kniese and Denise Chan during the live broadcast.
