AirAsia crew have been rewarded for their commitment, taking out the award for ‘Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew‘ at the World Travel Awards (Asia & Australasia) Gala 2015. The achievement is made extra special for the crew as this is not only the first time a low-cost airline has won the award, it’s the first time a low-cost airline has ever been nominated.
In taking out the award, AirAsia pipped the other nominees from Air India, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Southern Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Hainan Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, SriLankan Airlines and Thai Airways.
AirAsia Group CEO, Tony Fernandes congratulated his staff, saying “I am very proud of what our team of cabin crew has achieved. It is an example of what pushing the boundaries mean – we are not just a low-cost airline, but an airline that provides high value. Being awarded ‘Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew’ is testament that low-cost doesn’t mean compromise on quality.”
He went on to thank all those who had voted for AirAsia and added “Let’s continue to give our best to all of our guests“.
AirAsia has been nominated in four categories in the upcoming World Travel Awards 2015 to be held in December 2015. For the first time, AirAsia is nominated in the World’s Leading Cabin Crew, World’s Leading Low Cost Airline Website and World’s Leading Low Cost Airline App categories as well as a fourth consecutive nomination in the World’s Leading Low Cost Airline category.
AirAsia was named Asia’s Best and World’s Best Low Cost Airline by Skytrax for seven consecutive years from 2009 – 2015.
