Ipoh is the latest destination on AirAsia’s route network, with flights from Johor Bahru due to start soon. The capital city of Perak, the silver state, will be AirAsia Malaysia’s 16th domestic route in the country. The addition was confirmed by CEO Riad Asmat’s on 12th July 2018 who says the service will start ‘soon’.
…. We are excited to paint Ipoh red with our low fares and wide connectivity. For a start, we will connect Ipoh to Johor Bahru, our Southern hub and hope to contribute to the increasing number of domestic visitors besides fostering consistent tourism into Perak. Riad Asmat
He added that the airline is happy to announce the new service and looks forward to welcoming the first flight. Details are expected to announced soon. The addition of Ipoh means that AirAsia now flies to nine states in Malaysia and Federal Territory of Labuan.
The city and surroundings are famous for the wide variety of food, both for the quality and variety of ingredients and the skills of the culinary experts. It’s not uncommon for Malaysians to travel from Kuala Lumpur or Penang for lunch. With the new route opening, more people will have a chance to tickle their taste buds and check out the rest of town.
