The AirAsia Travel Fair 2025 is a collaborative travel platform bringing together travellers, travel agents, tourism boards, and industry partners under one roof for the first time. This Fair builds on previous editions held across key cities in Malaysia, demonstrating Kuala Lumpur’s growing stature as a major travel hub, offering connectivity to and extensive network of domestic and international destinations. There’s also great support for Malaysia’s tourism sector ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

Travel agents are also prominent as the fair goes beyond promoting AirAsia’s network, showcasing attractive packages from multiple travel agents. Travellers gain more choice and value from this enlarged travel ecosystem, while reinforcing Kuala Lumpur’s role as a gateway for outbound travel and a catalyst for inbound tourism.

…. For Visit Malaysia 2026, our goal is to reach over 47 million arrivals and RM329 billion in receipts. AirAsia’s extensive network that transits through Kuala Lumpur is vital in realising this target, as the city is not only a departure point for Malaysians but also a global gateway drawing visitors into the country. The AirAsia Travel Fair is a great platform to showcase the gems of both domestic and international destinations.Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia

His comments were echoed by Amanda Woo, Group Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia who adds:

….This travel fair comes at a strategic time as we leverage on our strong ecosystem of partners – from tourism boards to travel agents  – to offer more value-added choices to our guests. This year alone, we have resumed 5 routes across the group and launched 25 new ones, and there’s never been a better time for us to go all out in providing greater travel opportunities for our guests.

AirAsia offers travellers the largest domestic connectivity in Malaysia with a leading market share of 60%, putting them in a unique position to deliver both affordability and flexibility.

AirAsia currently accounts for more than 96% per cent of passenger traffic at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2). In 2024, over 25.8 million passengers flew with AirAsia to and from Kuala Lumpur, connecting to more than 130 destinations across Asia, Australia, Central Asia and the Middle East. New routes such as Kuala Lumpur–Tashkent, Istanbul, Palembang, Semarang, Banjarmasin, and Darwin further strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s hub position.
