If you’re travelling between 10th and 11th July 2024, you may be affected by an AirAsia system upgrade to its reservation and passenger-processing systems which will make them unavailable for 8 hours. However, the airline has released information on the best way to minimise any inconvenience.
AirAsia system upgrade: Things to know
The upgrade, designed to enhance its travel and booking experience, is scheduled for 8 hours from 7:00 pm (GMT+8) on Wednesday, 10th July 2024 to 3:00 am (GMT+8) on Thursday 11th July 2024.
The following services will bot be available during the upgrade ‘down time’:
- AirAsia flight bookings
- manage booking
- check-in
- Flight+Hotel booking
- AirAsia Rewards points issuance and redemption
- payment gateway for existing bookings
Ancillary purchases, including online duty-free, will also be unavailable during this time.
If you are travelling during this period, the airline advises you should take the following steps to ensure a smooth travel experience:
- Self Check-In 14 days ahead
- including those with group bookings and connecting flights between 10 and 11 July 2024, should perform self check-in on the AirAsia MOVE app (previously airasia Superapp)
- available now or up to14 days before their scheduled departure time.
- Arrive Early
- All travellers, especially those with group bookings, reduced mobility, and special needs, are required to arrive at the airport at least three (3) hours ahead of their scheduled departure time to clear all travel formalities.
- Counter and kiosk check-in, as well as baggage drop services at all airports where AirAsia operates, will be impacted by the system upgrade.
- Use E-Boarding Pass
- Download your e-Boarding Pass from the AirAsia MOVE app and save it on your digital wallet or mobile phone for smoother boarding without needing to reprint it at the airport.
- Update Contact Details
- Affected guests travelling during the upgrade timeframe will be notified via email and SMS text messaging.
- Ensure your contact details are up-to-date to receive the latest notifications about your AirAsia flight status.
All other services on the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly known as the airasia Superapp) and airasia.com, including non-AirAsia flight-related services, will not be affected.
