,Tigerair Australia has today flown its inaugural direct flight between Melbourne and Townsville. The service will operate four times a week with flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays according to the following schedule:

The new flight represents the only direct daytime flight by a low-cost carrier between the two cities. Furthermore, Melbourne travellers looking to escape winter will enjoy flight times that allow for easy transfers to the surrounding region, including Magnetic Island.
Melbourne to Townsville on sale
