A new TigerAir service connecting Brisbane to Canberra kicked off on Thursday, September 14. A sampling of fares reveals advance airfares of about $125 each way. Sale fares are likely to be as low as $69.
Flight schedule
The new route will see three weekly service depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays per the following schedule:
[table style=”table-condensed”]Departure | Arrival | |
---|---|---|
Brisbane to Canberra | 10:30 AM | 12:20 PM |
Canberra to Brisbane | 1:05 PM | 2:45 PM |
The mid-morning departure from Brisbane arrives in time for lunch. Similarly, the return flight allows a half-day in the ACT for business or leisure. We’re thrilled to see new low-cost services connecting these two cities. Canberra is typically a high-yielding destination for Qantas and Virgin Australia, so some low-cost competition is welcome.
Additional Melbourne-Canberra services added
In further good news, the airline has announced it will also be adding one extra weekly return service between Melbourne and Canberra. The additional flight will departs on Fridays beginning 15 September. This takes the number of return Tigerair services on this route to eight per week from seven.
