Tickets are now on sale for Firefly’s Jet services from Subang Hub due to start on 29th August 2024. Firefly is a subsidiary of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), and their five aircraft originally wore the livery of their parent company. Formally known as Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang (SZB), the airport has not seen scheduled commercial jet flights since 2006, when jet flights moved to the LCCT at KLIA.
Firefly’s Jet services Promo fares
Grab your all-in one-way promo fares between Subang and Penang (PEN) starting from RM129 and Kota Kinabalu (BKI) from RM249, for travel between 29th August 2024 and 6th August 2025. These fares include 10kg of check-in baggage, 7kg of carry-on baggage and free refreshments onboard.
Both jet services to Penang and Kota Kinabalu will offer daily return flights utilising Firefly’s retrofitted Boeing 737-800 aircraft, equipped with 189 seats in Economy Class. These feature ergonomic leather seats fitted with a personal device holder and USB type A and C power outlets.
Firefly is an established operator from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang since 2008, initially offering turbo propeller flights to seven destinations. With the introduction of jet services, Firefly continues to enhance its presence at SZB Subang Skypark, with over 2,100 weekly flights to 8 destinations available, combining both turboprop and jet services.

Firefly’s jet operations will further complement the existing nine daily services to Penang served by the ATR72, bringing the total number of flights between Penang and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport to ten times daily.

Firefly recently introduced a new service of ‘FY Neighbour-Free Seat’ option on selected routes, allowing passengers to reserve up to two adjacent empty seats for added comfort. Passengers can bid on available seats through a dedicated portal up to 72 hours before flight departure.
Firefly’s refreshed menu now includes a range of pre-booked meals and snacks on all jet routes, such as Ginger Beef Udon, Nasi Goreng Chicken Satay and Thai Basil Chicken. Save on these add-on in-flight meals by purchasing them in advance during booking or through the “Manage My Booking” feature on Firefly’s website or mobile platform.
