As a low-cost carrier member of the Cathay Group, Hong Kong Express (HK Express) offers travellers across 8 countries regionally the opportunity to fly within their budget and as per their individual requirements. It’s a model that is becoming increasingly popular across Asia and has made regional travel far more affordable. Their latest destination is Subang Airport in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur’s ‘city airport’.
Hong Kong Express at Subang Skypark
Bookings are now open for flights between Subang Airport, near Kuala Lumpur set to start service on 1st August 2025. You can fly out of SZB at 9.30pm, arriving just over 4 hours later in Hong Kong at 1.35 am (next day). Out of Hong Kong, flights leave daily at 4.35 pm, landing in Subang at 8.30pm.
HK Express also flies Hong Kong To Penang daily, departing Hong Kong at 8.25pm, arriving in Penang 15 past midnight, before departing to HKG at 1am, for a 4.55am arrival.
Making a booking
If you are making a booking make sure you first select your preferred currency. Booking looks straightforward but note that the initial fare shown is ‘before taxes’, which can add quite a bit. You’ll have to click to see the summary after making your selection. Travellers have a choice of four fare levels, with the most basic fare offering only a small bag that can fit under the seat.
Food is also an optional extra which can be pre-booked online for main meals and you may order inflight for instant specials, drinks and alcoholic beverages from their onboard menu. Check out their offerings and pre-book via “Manage My Booking”. Online check-in is available from 48 hours before your flight.
