Malaysia Airlines reinstates direct Kuala Lumpur-Kolkata flights

Malaysia Airlines is pleased to announce that direct flights between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Kolkata (CCU) will resume on December 2, 2024. This move expands the airline’s reach in India to ten destinations, including New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Amritsar, Trivandrum, and Ahmedabad.

Promo Fares available for Kuala Lumpur-Kolkata flights

To celebrate, the airline is offering special introductory fares starting from RM1,499 for round trips in Economy Class. These fares are available from 8th October to 8th November, 2024, for travel starting 2nd December, as part of their “Time for Kolkata” campaign.

The airline will operate five weekly flights using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. This decision follows the successful launch of daily flights to Amritsar last month, highlighting Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to strengthening its presence in India, a key market for them. With this new route and the increased flights from Amritsar, Malaysia Airlines will offer a total of 76 weekly flights between India and Malaysia.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, CEO of Malaysia Aviation Group invited passengers to explore India’s rich culture while easily connecting to popular global destinations through their Kuala Lumpur hub. He also noted that the airline’s ongoing investment in the Indian market reaffirms their commitment to being the airline of choice for both leisure and business travellers.
