AirAsia is proud to support students with affordable travel through the FLYsiswa programme, initiated by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia. Under this programme, AirAsia will operate 52 routes between Peninsular and East Malaysia, ensuring affordable flights for students travelling home.

The FLYsiswa e-voucher can be used for flights between 12 destinations in
- Peninsular Malaysia
- Kuala Lumpur
- Johor Bahru
- Kota Bahru
- Penang
- East Malaysia
- Kota Kinabalu
- Kuching
- Tawau
- Bintulu
- Miri
- Sibu
- Sandakan
- Labuan
It also covers flights between Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
Captain Chester Voo, Deputy Group CEO (Airline Operations) of AirAsia Aviation Group, when announcing the programme, said that the airline is proud to continuously support the government’s initiative by offering affordable flights to facilitate students to travel back to their home.
He added that
…. This year, we received over 21,000 submissions from verified students in public universities across the country, with nearly 80 per cent successfully redeeming their vouchers with AirAsia. We are delighted that AirAsia remains a top choice for travel in the region, particularly among students.
He is confident that following the government’s announcement that the subsidy will be increased to RM400 starting 1st January 2025, it will enable the students to travel home affordably while benefiting from AirAsia’s extensive domestic connectivity.
The Ministry of Transport Malaysia sets the eligibility criteria for the FLYsiswa programme, which is open to students at public universities in Malaysia. This includes those from Sabah, Sarawak, or Labuan studying in Peninsular Malaysia, and vice versa.
Students can apply by clicking the ‘Redeem Now’ button at airasia.com/aa/flysiswa. The application deadline has been extended to 22nd December this year. To redeem the voucher, enter the voucher number on the payment page.
