Brisbane’s back in the Malaysia Airlines network

We’ve been waiting for Malaysia Airlines to announce its return to Brisbane, with direct flights to Queensland due to take off five times weekly (Except Mon/Tue and Wed/Thur) from 29th November 2025. The announcement in conjunction with the 2025 Matta Fair, reaffirms the airline’s commitment to the Australian market and complements increased frequencies to Sydney and Melbourne which will benefit both leisure and business travellers.

Return to Brisbane with Promo fares

Get yourself to Brisbane, with promo fares starting from RM 1,999 all-in return for Economy Class and Business Class from RM 8,999 all-in return. If you’re in Brisbane, fares start at $755 for economy return tickets and $3,400 for business class return.
MH135 is timed to depart KL at 8.40pm every day except Monday and Wednesday, arriving in  Brisbane the next morning at 6.45am. The Return flight, MH134 leaves Brisbane at 8am, except Tuesday and Thursday, landing in Kuala Lumpur at 2.10pm.

In addition, the airline is increasing flights to Sydney and Melbourne to three times daily from October.  The airline has also increased flight frequencies across its Asia-Pacific network, with added services to popular cities such as Auckland, Surabaya, Phuket, and Trivandrum. The airline will also be introducing the all-new A330neo fleet on selected ANZ routes, offering enhanced passenger comfort, fuel efficiency, and cutting-edge cabin features. New Boeing aircraft are also coming into the fleet, also with enhanced cabin features.

Malaysia Airlines and Manchester United Co-Branded Livery

Another big reveal from the MATTA Fair, was the unveiling of its latest cobranded aircraft livery in partnership with Manchester United. The bespoke livery, now featured on the airline’s flagship A330-300, blends Malaysia’s national pride with Manchester United’s global sporting prestige. The unveiling was also a treat for fans of the team, with the presence of Manchester United legends Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidić, and Luís Nani who joined the celebrations in Malaysia. Fans can look forward to public meet and greet sessions from 18th April – 20th April 2025 at the MAG Arena at the MATTA Fair.

The current Manchester United team will be in Kuala Lumpur on 28th May to play at the Bukit Jalil Stadium against an Asean All-Star team as part of their pre-season tour.

More Choices for travellers

Malaysia Airlines also announced enhancements across Economy Class fare tiers, giving
passengers more choices tailored to their travel needs with Economy Lite (now known as Economy Value), Economy Basic, and Economy Flex.

Economy Value includes:

  • 7kg cabin baggage,
  • 20kg checked baggage,
  • complimentary meals,
  • 10% child discount,
  • booking flexibility for a fee

Its latest feature, called ‘Pay with EnrichMoney Points’ enables members to redeem points instantly via DuitNow QR at participating merchants. From 18th April to 31st May 2025, members who use this feature will enjoy up to RM5 off their purchases.
