You’ll no longer be seeing a Malaysian Airlines plane on the tarmac in Dubai from February 15th, 2016, when the recently inked Malaysian Airlines / Emirates code-sharing agreement takes off. Malaysia Airlines will now offer a choice of four flights daily, up from the current single service, although all the flights will utilise Emirates aircraft, operated three times a day on the Boeing 777 and once a day on the Airbus 380.
As such, all passengers currently booked on a Malaysia Airlines flight Kuala Lumpur/Dubai from that date will be re-accommodated on the new code-share flights with Emirates.
The new code-share will enable customers to make seamless and convenient connections to more than 90 destinations worldwide covered by the Emirates’ network. These include 38 destinations in Europe with either daily or double daily services to major European cities including Paris, Rome, Munich, Frankfurt, Madrid, and Barcelona, as well as services to Canada and Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
In return, Emirates passengers will enjoy greater connectivity to Malaysia Airlines’ network to Malaysia and South East Asia.
Malaysia Airlines Enrich members will look forward to confirmation of the alignment of Malaysia Airlines and Emirates frequent flyer programmes, giving customers expanded opportunities to earn and redeem points. Details of the benefits are expected within the next three months.
….The partnership allows our guests to travel seamlessly to major cities around the world whilst enjoying increased loyalty reward through our loyalty programmes. We will be able to offer Kuala Lumpur as a hub to connect to South East Asia and Dubai for connections to Europe, Middle East and North and South Africa. This arrangement will offer guests a wider network of destinations at greater convenience. Malaysia Airlines’ CEO, Christoph Mueller
