The eighth edition of the George Town Festival will be held in 2017 The organisers are already hard at work on planning for the event and have called for anyone with ideas for projects in areas such as visual art, dance, theatre, music, opera, workshops, talks, street performances, to send in their GTF 2017 Proposals.

As they say on their page calling for your proposals :

Did you catch the George Town Festival 2016 (GTF2016)?

The 2016 Festival ran from the last weekend of July until the end of August at venues all across George Town and Butterworth in Penang, Malaysia with a diverse mix of events across a wide range of cultural pursuits.

Art exhibitions, performances, plays, music and dance, both free and ticketed, attracted visitors and locals alike. We at Economy Traveller managed to catch the first weekend and wished we could have stayed longer, as so many events caught our fancy.

As the 2017 dates and more information becomes available, we’ll update our info – Economy Traveller is planning to catch what they can as well!
