Malindo gets approval for Kuala Lumpur – Perth flights

Malindo Air has announced on 1st October that Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) has granted approval for the airline  to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Perth making Australia the eighth country in the Malindo network. The 11 times weekly service is scheduled to begin on 11th November 2015.  UPDATE: Tickets are now on sale for flights that will start on 19th November 2015.

Promotional one-way fares for the new route start from RM599 for Economy Class and RM1,499 for Business Class inclusive of free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment, a meal and light refreshments. Tickets sales will begin upon receipt of approval from Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Malaysia. The airline’s 180 seat Boeing 737-900ER aircraft will be used on this route, the longest in the Malindo Air network.

** Malindo Air meals are included in the ticket price for all flights over three hours. These are mainly rice-based meals as described on their meal information page.

    1. According to their website, a meal is included in this ticket. I have contacted Malindo Air to confirm the type of meal available and will update you here as soon as I receive their response. The meals shown on their meals page do look quite tasty – http://www.malindoair.com/the-malindo-experience/our-meals Hopefully this is what they will confirm is included.
      UPDATE: I’ve had a reply from Malindo Air to confirm that you will receive a rice-based meal as in the link I gave you, for all flights over three hours as well as the usual standard light refreshments – sandwiches/biscuits and tea/water/coffee. There is also a good chance that there may also be a ‘surprise’ in store for this particular route, according to my contact. I will update on the story if I have more information. Hope this helps.

      1. Thanks Lesley. I hope the food caters to my 6Y old 🙂 Any idea on Entertainment for Economy class passengers. Understand that screens are there but are ear phones provided?
