Tickets are now on sale for Malindo Air’s latest destination – Lahore in Pakistan. This will be one of the longest routes in the airline’s network and will use their new Boeing 737-900ER aircraft which carry 12 Business Class and 168 Economy Class passengers.

The four times weekly flights will depart Kuala Lumpur for Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday returning the same evening for an early morning arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA2. The inaugural flight is scheduled to take off on 3rd March 2016. The flight time is 5 hrs and 45 minutes. *** Additional flights have been added to make this a daily service.

Why visit Lahore?

Lahore, capital of Punjab Province, is the second largest metropolitan area in Pakistan and is counted in the top twenty most populous cities in the world.

The city of Lahore is regarded by many as the cultural heart of Pakistan as it hosts most of the arts, cuisine, festivals, music, film-making, gardening and intelligentsia of the country. Most of the books in the country are published in Lahore, cementing the city’s position as a centre of literary, educational and cultural activity in Pakistan.

…We are elated to extend our reach to Lahore and for being the only Malaysian-based airline to offer direct services between Kuala Lumpur and Lahore. The route will also signify one of our furthest route yet from Kuala Lumpur using our young fleet of Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. Malaysians and transiting visitors from neighbouring Singapore can now look forward to a smooth flight to Lahore via Kuala Lumpur whether for business, leisure or religious purposes. Lahore is also an important religious centre as it is home to hundreds of temples, mosques, churches and shrines. Chandran Rama Muthy, Malindo Air CEO

    1. Hi, most of your questions are answered in our review of the inaugural Kuala Lumpur /Perth Flight review : http://economytraveller.com/malindo-air-kuala-lumpur-perth-on-the-boeing-737-800er/
      1. Yes, included in price
      2. WiFi is available on board selected flights but is charged. As the website states : Packages of duration can be purchased prior to the flight and onboard.
      3. That is correct.
      4. There would be one rice (or noodles/potato etc) based meal, since the flight is not that long. All meals are Halal. The selections are all available as you step through the booking process.

  3. hello. please tell me JAKARTA – KL- LAHORE route fare and when its going to start from Indonesia?? how to book ticket for JAKARTA – LAHORE ? because there is no office in Jakarta of Malindo Air! So; guide me ya ASAP!!

    1. Hi, It’s currently not possible to make the booking in one step. What you will need to do is book the flights Jakarta / KL and then KL / Lahore separately. As Malindo Air hasn’t currently announced any transfer arrangement, you’d need to collect your luggage and check in again for teh next leg. As the Jakarta flight arrives at 4.15pm and the Lahore flight leaves at 5.30pm, you may not be able to make the connection which would mean staying a night in KL.
As soon as they announce multi-city bookings and transfers, we’ll be posting a story. Hopefully this will happen when they move to KLIA main terminal on 15th March.
Alternatively, you could catch an earlier flight on another airline which will give you enough time to make the connection. Even if the other flight uses KLIA2, you can transfer quite easily (RM2 on the ERL train) between terminals.

    1. A seat selected in Row 4 will cost from MYR 50. However, this seems to vary depending on the direction you are flying. and may actually be less expensive than a seat in a different part of the aircraft. I’d suggest you make your booking and when you reach the seat selection page and change the selection to see how the cost changes before you confirm your choice.

  4. Hi Team,

Good Morning. I would like to ask you couple of questions regarding my travel plans.

At the moment, I wish to purchase a ONE Way ticket from Lahore to KUL and I already have another one way ticket of Air Asia X from KUL to Melbourne.

Do you think there would be any problems for me to travel on a ONE WAY Ticket. I already have visa of Malaysia that I got from Malaysian Embassy, Saudi Arabia. I will use that visa to travel to Malaysia and then to Melbourne.

Moreover, kindly share with me the contact details of Malindo Air, Lahore airport office.

Your swift response is requested. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    1. MalindoAir don’t have a dedicated Lahore office listed on their website. I suggest you contact their KL Office by email, this is listed on this link: http://www.malindoair.com/contact-us
Regarding your travel to Malaysia and Australia, if you already have an approved Malaysian Visa, you will be able to enter, but you will also need to show a visa approval to fly on to Australia on your AirAsia flight.
You can get information on applying for an Australian Visa in the recent story on our website.
      http://economytraveller.com/visas-arrival-easy-way/
Please note that Malindo Air uses the KLIA terminal in Kuala Lumpur and AirAsia flies from KLIA2.
You can catch the ERL train between the two terminals for MYR2 (about USD.50) Trains run about every 20 minutes.
