There will be lots of people travelling over the next few weeks, so AirAsia has advised passengers to use the airline’s self check-in options via Web or Mobile, for their travel convenience. The AirAsia Mobile and Web Check-In is available from 14 days and up to 1 hour prior to departure for all AirAsia flights, and up to 4 hours prior to departure for AirAsia X flights.

Guests may choose to receive their boarding pass either via email or the mobile QR code in their smartphone during web check-in. However, if a is printer available, travellers will save time by printing out their boarding passes before arriving at the airport.

As baggage counters close 60 minutes before flight departure for all AirAsia and AirAsia X flights, it is recommended that you check in your bags as soon as you arrive at the airport and then proceed straight to the departure area as security checks and immigration clearance are areas that will also be busy at this time and may be congested.

In a statement issued on 12th December, the airline has reminded guests to ensure that their booked baggage allocation is sufficient for their travels. To add more baggage allocation, guests may do so online via ‘Manage My Booking’ at www.airasia.com up to four hours before the scheduled departure time.

Self Check-in kiosks at the airports are also available for guests to use, by keying in the 6-digit booking reference number or scanning the rectangular barcode on the flight itinerary. Check-in kiosks are available at all airports throughout Malaysia including klia2,and may be used from 14 days and up to 1 hour prior to departure for all AirAsia flights, and up to 4 hours prior to departure for AirAsia X flights.

Self Check-in is not available for guests with group bookings, reduced mobility or special needs who will need to check-in at the counter and should allow more time for this process. Due to the potential congestion, this should be at least 3 hours before the time of departure.

It is also a good idea to pre-book meals online to ensure that your choice is available. Pre-booking may be done at any time from the time of booking, up until 24 hours before the scheduled time of departure.

AirAsia  and Economy Traveller would also like to wish everyone a wonderful journey and happy holidays.
