As the holiday season approaches and airlines are looking at difficult times, now is a good time for travellers to look at the various holiday season offerings available for great fares to their favoured destinations.

To get the best fares, it helps if you can commit to dates well into the next year, although some airlines want your business so much, they are giving great fares for immediate departure. One of these airlines in Malaysia Airlines which has has more than its fair share of troubles in 2014, and is seeking to rebuild their reputation and business by filling the seats on flights around its extensive network.

MALAYSIA AIRLINES

Malaysia Airlines is offering all-inclusive travel deals in all ASEAN countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)  for travel from 5 November 2014 to 15 June 2015. Tickets will be on sale until 13 November 2014.

Malaysia Airlines’ all-in return Economy Class fares start from USD110 between Manila, Philippines to various Malaysian airports, including Kuala Lumpur from USD 110, Johor Bahru from USD 200 and Penang from USD 200.

Other destinations on offer include Jakarta from USD 250, Bangkok from USD 260, Kochi from USD 500, Chennai from USD 500 and Sydney from USD 600.

Holiday makers can also travel to Paris from USD 700 and London from only USD 700.

These promotional fares can be purchased online, at ticketing offices or local travel agents. In addition to the special fares, Economy Class guests may upgrade their complimentary meal to a premium meal package via ‘MH Gourmet’ for a fee. This option, with six menu options to choose from, comes with an appetiser and dessert as well as baked bread rolls and chocolates.

For guests celebrating special occasions on-board, check out their special ‘On Air Celebration’ service. You may choose from the different Birthdays and Anniversaries themed cakes with a message of your choice for a fee.

AIRASIA

AirAsia has a number of good deals on offer at the moment. Their popular “Free Seats’ promotion is back, with 3 million promotional seats available for immediate booking, on both short haul domestic and international flights as well as popular routes on its low-cost long haul affiliate AirAsia X.

Among the free seats available are those to and from Langkawi, Yogyakarta, Krabi, Siem Reap, Kalibo (the gateway to Boracay), Da Nang, Surat Thani (gateway to Koh Samui), Chengdu, Perth and many more destinations from Kuala Lumpur; as well as destinations from AirAsia’s other hubs in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

The Free Seats (excluding airport tax, fuel surcharge and other applicable fees) are available for booking online from 10th to 16th November 2014, for the travel period from 10th June 2015 – 17th Jan 2016.

AirAsia has also introduced a convenient Fly-Thru service enabling guests to connect flights conveniently from one destination to another without the hassle of collecting their bags at any stopover transit point, as well as quick transit as the time in between the connecting flights will not exceed a ’90 minutes – 6 hours’ window.

Look out for the free seats on the Group’s two new airlines, Thai AirAsia X and Indonesia AirAsia X, where you can transfer to to flights out of Bangkok & Bali; making this Free Seats promotion even more attractive. Try looking for Kuala Lumpur – Bangkok – Mandalay or Melbourne – Bali – Kuala Lumpur. Or perhaps, Sydney – Kuala Lumpur – Taipei. In addition, the new KLIA2 transit hub makes the process even easier.

QATAR

Qatar airways have recently been offering great fares to Europe, but if you go to their Facebook page, you can still get some decent prices to travel well into 2015, especially if you want to go before it starts to warm up.

LUFTHANSA

Lufthansa are also slipping teasers into Facebook at the moment inviting you to register for their newsletters with offers. If you’re up for the wait, you may want to check them out.
