This holiday season, give a gift to someone special or choose something for yourself, with lots of offers from various airlines. Some of the best we’ve found will either appeal to your loyalty with lots of extra points for a purchase, or entice you with great fares, or both!
It is, of course, important to read the fine print before you part with your credit card details, as there are often conditions attached to the usage of vouchers which may restrict their use.
Qantas are offering members of their Qantas Frequent Flyer program the opportunity to earn 10 Qantas points for every AUD spent when they purchase vouchers which are available in denominations of AUD50, up to AUD500. They also have an extended option of a AUD1,000 and AUD2,000 voucher. The vouchers are redeemable for one-way or return Qantas domestic or international flights departing Australia only and are on sale until the 31st December 2014.
Two of the best things about the customisable Qantas vouchers are that Qantas does not charge a card payment fee on gift voucher purchases or redemptions and the name of the recipient may be changed when the voucher is redeemed.
You do need to be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, for which you may have to pay a joining fee. You may join online.
Apart from the Jetstar Christmas Wrap-Up Sale with great fares available until 4th January 2015, they also have vouchers for sale which make a great last-minute gift. They are easy to purchase and you can ask Jetstar to email your gift on your behalf or do it yourself.
Jetstar Gift Vouchers are valid for use within 6 months of the issue date and are available in denominations between AUD25 and AUD500. They can be used to purchase airfares and bundle options, taxes, fees and other charges associated with normal Jetstar internet or telephone reservation bookings. They may also be used for part payment of a fare.
Lufthansa is another airline worth looking at if you want to visit Europe this winter or give a special gift to someone who is doing so. Apart from some great fares on offer, they are offering a special deal with their partner hotel Best Western which will earn you 500 extra award miles for every purchase of a 75 Euro Travel Card hotel voucher. You may load up to 1000 Euro, which will earn you a total of 6,500 miles. Of course, to take advantage of the offer, you will need to be a member of their Frequent Flyer programme.
